Had lunch on a beautiful day, so we ate outside. We started with the Red Sangria. If you like dry sangria, you’ll like it. I like them sweeter and fruitier but my husband liked it. My husband had the Cuban Sandwich with sweet plantains. It was great. Real pulled pork, good ham and great white creamy melted cheese and pickles (might have added more). The mustard didn’t overwhelm the sandwich. Excellent. I had the Banderillas. 4 Skewers with zucchini’s, red and green roasted peppers, chicken pieces and bread rounds. The chicken was definitely overcooked but still had a good flavor. The highlight was the Mango Vinaigrette. Tangy and sweet and a perfect complement to the skewers. Even the yellow rice tasted better with the vinaigrette! Before we ate we were worried that we might have to order more, but it was plenty! The servers were nice.
Didn’t go in expecting much from a self-proclaimed tapas place, but the enchiladas blew me away. Totally distinct flavor in all four. Hefty portion. Service was great.
We love that they have a whole vegan and vegetarian menu. The food is consistently good and the menu is unique. One of our favorite spots in downtown Deland!

Great place! Fist time here and we loved it. Everything was perfect: ambiance, drinks, food, services... The menu has a little bit of everything. Pretty downtown too. Recommended!
Thank you Team De La Vega Valentine’s 3-course meal was spectacular! I love the romantic touches… we sat at the 8:30 seating and had the vegan option; steak cauliflower and it was delicious we will definitely be back

My dinner companion and I enjoyed a variety of tapas at De La Vega. We started with the Arepa Palua, which was outstanding. The shredded beef was divine, and the yucca dough paired perfectly with sour cream and some spicy sauce from the nopalitos we also had. The nopalitos themselves were a delightful mix of flavors, with cheese, pineapple, and grilled cactus creating a unique and delicious combination. For our entrees, I had the Ultimate Ropa Vieja. It was a generous portion of shredded beef, and though it took some time to finish with the rice, I couldn't manage to eat the tostones. My dinner companion opted for the Avocados Vegetarianos. Despite her initial plan to eat only two and take the other two home, she ended up enjoying all of them right away, just like last time. We also shared a large hibiscus margarita, which was excellent. Overall, our dining experience at De La Vega was fantastic.
